A built-in connection wizard helps you setup a new FTP connection in a few seconds with an intuitive step-by-step approach. Site Manager CuteFTP 5.0 XP's Site Manager provides an easy way to store FTP site usernames, passwords and addresses. It's like speed dial for your FTP sites! Quick Connect URL Bar This Quick Connect bar lets you enter FTP URLs, including username and password, much like you would in your Web-browser. URL Monitoring CuteFTP 5.0 XP can monitor the Windows clipboard for FTP urls. If it detects one, it can automatically connect and download the intended file. URL Parsing/Pasting CuteFTP 5.0 XP allows you to copy URLs directly from the Windows clipboard and paste them into CuteFTP for quick connections to FTP hosts. Check out some of its more popular transfer features: FTP Transfers CuteFTP 5.0 XP supports multiple methods for transferring files and folders. Full drag 'n drop support using your mouse is the most common. CuteFTP 5.0 XP also supports toolbar button, menu based and keyboard based transfers. Site to Site Transfers This popular features allows you to transfer files from one remote server to another, vastly increasing the file transfer speed by bypassing your computer altogether. Resume Transfers CuteFTP 5.0 XP can resume downloading of incomplete files. This works with all FTP sites that support this feature. Even resume a partial transfer after a power outage. Transfer Queue CuteFTP 5.0 XP has a robust queue management system. You can select multiple files from various directories and sites and queue them for later transfer. Queued transactions may also be edited, saved, re-prioritized, and scheduled. Scheduled Transfers CuteFTP 5.0 XP's scheduler lets you schedule current or saved queues for later transfer. You can also select actions for after a scheduled event has completed, and reschedule currently selected queued items. Transfer Modes CuteFTP 5.0 XP can automatically detect the best method for transferring files. However, it allows you to customize the handling of certain file extensions. It also lets your temporarily force one of the available transfer methods (ASCII/Binary/Auto). Transfer Case CuteFTP 5.0 XP can force transferred files into lower, upper or preserved case. This is particularly useful when there are files with mixed case on your system but your server requires them to be all in lower or upper case. Transfer Rename CuteFTP 5.0 allows you to define a list of extensions that should be changed upon transfer. Automatically convert an extension such as .htm to .html or .que to .queue.

Below are some of the most common: Folder Navigation CuteFTP 5.0 XP allows you to navigate folders using the mouse, keyboard, and toolbar buttons. Shortcut keys let you quickly navigate to a defined path. Navigating folders on your remote server is as easy as navigating through folders on your Windows Desktop or Explorer. Folder Management CuteFTP 5.0 XP lets you create new folders, rename existing ones, and delete unused folders. You can view a folder's properties and perform standard operations, such as Cut, Copy, and Paste. Default Folder Options CuteFTP 5.0 XP lets you specify a default folder for placing your downloads. You can also specify a default remote folder, so when you connect, CuteFTP will automatically switch to the chosen folder. Folder Bookmarks This feature is similar to the favorites or bookmark feature in your browser. You can bookmark one or more folder paths on a per-site basis, and later return to those paths by selecting the bookmark. Folder and File Links CuteFTP 5.0 XP can handle UNIX style links with ease. Various configuration options help you identify links as well as determine how they should be traversed when returning from a visited link. Folder Listing Options CuteFTP 5.0 XP helps you navigate and display listings quickly and efficiently. A toggle for showing generic icons helps when retrieving large folder listings. You can also determine whether file sizes are displayed in bytes, or kilobytes. CuteFTP 5.0 XP can also remember your sort and column settings for remote and local listings. Filtered Folder Listings CuteFTP 5.0 XP's Global Filter Mask allows you to hide or show specific file types in your remote or local window. This lets you quickly identify and transfer a single item or group of similar items from a large folder listing. Folder Comparison CuteFTP 5.0 XP can help you synchronize two folders. Local and remote folder contents can be compared based on case, name, date, or size. Files that are different from each other are highlighted and can be selected and transferred for directory wide changes. Macro Record/Playback Automation has never been easier. With CuteFTP's "recordable" macro scripting, you can record connection and transfer related tasks and later replay the recorded events. You can load pre-recorded events from within the program or via the command line, for completely automated sessions. Context Menu Transfers CuteFTP 5.0 XP can be integrated in the right-click shell (context) menu in your Windows Explorer. You can transfer files without ever launching CuteFTP by simply right clicking on them and selecting the available upload commands from within the context menu. RAW FTP Commands CuteFTP 5.0 XP allows you to input a direct FTP command, allowing you to communicate with an FTP Server at a more granular level. Change File Attributes (CHMOD) CuteFTP 5.0 XP gives you the ability to change file permissions for remote files using right-click context menus within the program. The CHMOD dialog then allows for easy modification of file attributes. View and Execute The View feature loads the contents of a remote text-based file into Windows Notepad or any other text viewer of your choice. You can also execute files, which will download an item (if necessary) and run it using the associated program.
